This falls into what might be a new sub-genre of gritty realism super hero films. It’s less Deadpool (2016) or Logan (2017), and more Brightburn (2019). There are people with superpowers but they’re grounded in the real world. What happens to a father and young daughter with powers? How does he keep her safe? There are stellar performances from all, including the young lead Lexy Kolker. And there’s few laughs to be had. A charmer of a film, definitely worth seeing.
